Memory Stick Switcher?

Post by vskid »

I now have 2 memory sticks for my PSP, but I need both. I don't carry my PSP in a pouch or anything, so I can't put the other stick there. I was thinking that I could maybe add another MS slot and have a switch to change the power from one stick to the other in order to access them separately. What I don't know is if having just the power turn off will be enough to disconnect the stick (with all the other connections being direct and no switches). Here is the pinout, and this is a pic of what I mean. I just need to know if it'll work, or if the data pins being combined will screw things up.

Do you use the UMD drive?

If you don't, then you can do what I did, and just remove the drive and use it to store memory cards.

UMD is already out. I thought about using it as storage, but I'd still have to swap sticks. Using the switcher idea, I could just mount another card slot where the UMD drive was and then just flick a switch if I want to use the other card.

Ok, I'll try that with some old memory sticks I have, post my results when I'm done.
