We open our presents on Christmas Eve, and I got quite the haul this year!
-150 piece Dremel set
-Some long/needle nose plyers
-A huge screwdriver set
-Some nice delicious treats
-A damn nice sweater
-Boxers
-A couple DVD's
-A new clock radio
-$100
And my favourite present of the year:

It needs to be seen in real life to be truly appreciated. It's a 3D display for Superbad from Walmart. Seth and Evan are in the front, and Fogell is further back. I saw this at Walmart and told my brother that I HAD to have it. He ended up talking to the manager and negotiated to get it for me! I can tell you, it's going to save him from some beat-downs in the next little while

My Christmas Haul:
Group Photo of My haul

Creig 1 gig MP3/Video Player

A calander of Fast Cars

The Wii Game, Monster Trux Arenas Special Edition

Some tools for use on my projects

A wallet

And now for the best Gift of all. Game Station Plug "n" Play. And I'm 85% sure it has a NOAC

I just need to add a NES Cartridge Slot to this thing. It has the place for one but does not have one. Then after a while, make a NES portable out of it. And my mom knew that when she got it. I would take it apart. Also my parents actually like me doing portablizing and stuff like that.
Now the Only Items not Pictured I got are:
$135 Worth of Cash and Gift Cards
Some Jeans
Bell & Howell Shaver
RC Car

It's a nice device for audio-video playback, but the screen is quite small, IMO. Web browsing is quite crippled, what with no flash/java, but it's good for forums and text pages; it's far better than any cell phone browser, even ones like the sidekick. The keyboard is also a pro. Messenging features are good if you use them, especially Skype, which is perfectly integrated. The proprietary jack for headphones is a total pain in the ass, but so long as you don't lose the one that comes with it, you're fine! Oh, and this morning, I got a gameboy wallet, a mario shirt, a case for my Touch, Medal of Honor: Heroes 2 for Wii, MGS 2, and some cash. More to come later!ValiantVenality wrote:Hey CTFan, do you know if the Mylo is any good? My PSP is getting pretty worn out and i dont really play the games on it either. Also, no more touch for me so thats another reason to want it.

Merry Christmas to all!
Let's see what I got:
- $160 CAD total from various family members.
- 2 Levy's guitar straps (one is checkerboard, one is leather with giant safety pins in it
)
- Fender Hardshell Strat case (Tweed exterior/red plush interior )
- Professional AKG Reference Headphones (now I can be, like, a hardcore audiophile
)
- Various band T-shirts
- My parents promised to buy me a cell phone (we're getting 4 phones all at once to do a family plan)
Boxing Day tomorrow! I'm going to go to the mall with my friends, it'll be fun.
I'm a pretty lucky bastard.

Loot:
Some shirts
a couple pairs of sweatpants
Money (no idea how much, but that's what happens when you visit a large extended family on Christmas eve)
Some Air Hogs flying saucer thing (sort of a gag gift I think..)
Magnavox DVD recorder w/ ATSC tuner.
I haven't really seen what digital broadcasts looked like until now, and the quality is amazing considering I just used an old 80s Rat Shack antenna through a 75 ohm converter. It's strange to watch sometimes, because they're mainly formatted for wide screen TVs (ours is just a 27" 4:3), so there's a 2" margin on all sides.
Setting the picture to Pan & Scan mode fixes the problem. Of course strange things happen when it drops packets from the broadcast... Is it possible to adapt a cantenna to work with TV?
VLC plays the discs it records without having to finalize them, so I suppose it's screenshot time!

Left to right: Channel 10's "Weather Plus" station (DTV 10.2), Someone set the Plinko record, and my omnidirectional pair of rabbit ears has trouble with some channels that are really far away.
Apparently VLC doesn't deinterlace screenshots... Huh.
@nightwheel: I think that's a NOAC, too. Open it up and take a look!
