It's a great media player from the makers of WinAmp and the Mozilla team. Does anybody use it?I wish I could integrate rhapsody with it.

It looks almost exactly like iTunes, from the design elements to placement of interface buttons. And apparently on Windows and Mac it uses VLC for its backend media playback. More "open" "innovation", I presume?

No, I don't think I'll be using it. MP10 works fine for music, MP4s and MOVs generally go through QuickTime, and I use VLC and Media Player Classic for videos. Between them I have yet to come across a video file I can't play (aside form RealMedia, but they suck). I pretty much only use iTunes for buying the occasional music track and copying music to the Nano.

I don't give a crap about blogs in general, why are MP3 blogs so different? Most of the music out there is garbage anyway...

my media players:
*windows media player 9: for mp3s and such because anything past that is hopelessly bloated and packed full of crap i will never use
*Winamp: dont use it too often, mostly with the NSF plugin to listen to nintendo music and stuff
*VLC for all my video needs and mp4 m4a ogg etc, with the CCCP it plays everything ever pretty much
*zune software and itunes for my zune and ipod, i hate the zune software with the white hot passion of a thousand suns and itunes is decent, good for organizing stuff, i mainly use both just to sync to crap

foxytunes is the best plugin ever for firefox :D

Wow, I didn't realize some people need like 6 different media programs. If Songbird can do it all that would be enough reason for me to switch. In my case, though, iTunes and Quicktime from with a Windows Media plugin let me watch pretty much anything, so I have no desire to convert, especially since I would still need iTunes for my iPod (unless there's a Songbird plugin I didn't see).

I use iTunes to sync my iPod and play my music in an organized manner. For random MP3's or videos, I'll just use VLC or mplayer. I don't need another media player.

EDIT @Triton: Yeah, the Zune software blows. I had to use it when I put a bunch of South Park episodes on my friend's Zune. It is a god-awful piece of crap. It strikes me as an unholy blend of IE and WMP11. It uses more RAM just sitting there than Adobe After Effects does! That makes no sense!

I know, it's such a pain in the ass! Regardless, I use Winamp, as it has a supply of unlimited themes and plugins. The real reason I use it is because of the new docked toolbar design so it doesn't get in the way of my apps.

Xbox Media Center is t3h l33t, plays just about every worthwhile media format, even .flv and Realmedia (.rm) although mpeg4 isn`t fully supported yet, needs to be encoded at a lower bitrate and such.

Plays nicely at 720p, hiccups at 1080i cuz of the lack of processing power in the Xbox`s P3 cpu.

I don`t use the streaming and network features though, just download a movie/anime/etc stick it on my 2 GB flash drive, plug it into my external usb port on my ecksbawks, then watch em :D

But for computer?
Windows media player for music, VLC for videos, Winamp/w plugin for Nintendo music, Realmedia for some anime I can only get in .rm, but my ecksbawks does everything now, all I use on my PC anymore is Windows for my music.

It will play those formats fine if you upgrade the CPU.

yeah unless somone wants to do it for me for way cheap, I think I`m gonna leave it alone, plus I`m not sure how well the upgraded cpu will fare with games.

I'm surprised no one has brought up the super superior best music player since EVER.

foobar2000

Need I say more? It's simple, doesn't need all the gloss crap, and plays whatever I want it to play (music wise, note how I said "music player" earlier). SHOUTCast is my best friend when it comes to this, too.

I use uShare to link my PC to my 360. I can watch DivX/XviD streamed directly from my computer. It's so great, because I can download a torrent and then go downstairs and watch it on my 42 inch plasma.

I don't want to make an "I'm leaving" thread, but I've sort of lost interest in this board. So if you notice that I'm gone, that's why.
