I just got my PSX to run on batteries but I can't turn it off because I took off that little side board that had the power button on it. So to turn it off I have to just pull the battery off and I don't want to do that so I want to install a switch. Anyone know how to do this? I'm looking at a non-lighted rocker switch from radio shack. DPST or SPST? I have no idea what I'm doing so if anyone can give me a wiring diagram that would be great. Umm.. I wired my PSX off of this picture by the way.

Well, I'm not exactly an expert on this so I really don't know how to find that out. But I salvaged a switch off of a Super Nintendo and it has two wires coming off of it, one red and the other black (positive and negative). There are two wires that are left over from the PSX "side board" that I didn't solder on so I was wondering if maybe it would work if I connected the switches two wires to the two wires coming off the side board.
Hope that made sense.

Well as you might have guessed, you want to put the switch on the power wires.
Right way is to switch the battery off with a spst switch before it hits the 3.3v converter and the console (and the screen, presumably, in the future).
sketchier way to do it is to disconnect the battery ground with a spst swtich.
please dont ask me to draw a diagram of "how to wire" a spst switch. If you cant figure that one out yourself... well its time you learned
. (hint: google)
