How to paint bondo or what kind to use??

Yes it is nice to be able to put your projects INSIDE something isn't it? You know, to hold everything together so it doesn't flop around? Discuss the techniques here!

How to paint bondo or what kind to use??

Post by projectwhat »

I am making a Guitar Hero Guitar Controller. I bought a wireless ps2/PC controller off of eBay. I will be using bondo on the project and I dont really kno a lot about paint. I have heard of paint that is sorta like spray paint but when you spray it on it chemically reacts with plastic and changes the color of the plastic. Is there anything like that for bondo??? Does anyone have any suggestions of what I should use, and/or techniques???

get some krylon primer and put a few coats on and lightly sand in between coats (after you give it ~30minutes)

then do the same for some krylon fusion, ( I dont sand in between coats unless I wait close to a day)

if you want you can use some clearcoat also I usually put like 3 coats at least to make it a bit more durable

yup thats the fusion, no they don't make a bondo specific type.

if you cant get krylon clearcoat, get minwax. It's what I use sometimes.

it should give it a nice glossy finish if that is what you want

Yes I would like a glossy finish. So I guess the fusion paint will do fine with bondo, even tho its for plastic??? Thats one of my main concerns????
