What's a good price on a new SuperJoy 3?

Post by nickerous »

Saw a lady selling 6 of them at the local flea market this weekend. She said she had been getting $30 for them, but was selling them for $20 now. I asked if she would take $15, but she refused...is $20 the going rate for these things now?

Went to this huge "Tacoma Dome Electronics Liquidation Sale!" on Saturday. It cost $6 to park and $8 each to get in; four people. We spent almost $40 before we got inside.
Once inside, we found that it was only a few Chinese generic MP3s, a crap load of Super Joys, and clothes...
The guy was selling Super Joys for $70, but resorted to a 2 for 1 deal.
All they did at the sale was scam people.
A generic 2GB MP3, $70. My 4GB generic, same "model" was $35 on ebay.

I had to pay a whopping 45 bucks at the mall for them. At least the guy was cool; he understood exactly what they were  He's glad someone's putting them to a real use. He's the same guy each time; when my portoNes is done, I'll be showing that to him.

I've seen them at local flea markets for $15.00, (and you know they are still making a decent profit at that price) but about this time every year I see them pop up at alls in the fly-by-night keyosk that magically appear in the commons areas. Last year they were $35.95 and the wireless version with more games was $65.00 so $20 isnt bad at all.

Yeah, back when they were slingin' 'em at the mall kiosks around here, about four years ago, they were $50, so I'd imagine they wouldn't be much cheaper.

Hey, technology cheapens in 4 years. My computer now is as powerful as the "dream machine" in '03.

Well, yeah, the technology cheapens, but the people selling it don't have to. ;) I've snagged a bunch of 'em at Goodwill too, I'm just sayin'.

It a Plug in Play System based on the NES-on-a-Chip hardwear. The system has many games within it. The system also has a NES cartrage slot on so you can play other games on it too. Here is more about it on wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_Player_Super_Joy_III

I think I actually walked past those guys at the MOA and the Southdale Mall who would try to hawk them with terrible accents. Two days later, they were all gone.
