The Physics of Santa (Read, even if you've read it before)

Okay, first off I know most of you have probably read this article before.

It focuses on disproving Santa's existence through simple reasoning and some calculations. However, digging up this article, I found this other one that is a response to the first:

I haven't really read it yet, but I saw the words "Ion Shield" and I know it will be an amusing read, at the very least!

Also, I wanted to apply the laws of relativity to this case, before I realized that 650 miles per second translated to a very insignificant metric number, compared to the speed of light. But since it's an accelerating frame of reference, Special relativity can not be applied. Does anyone care to summarize the theory of General relativity to fill me in on this equally important concept?

No, he's wrong.
He forgot the main attribute Santa possesses, magic!
Technically, you cannot disprove magic, as something happening in a "magically" has already been said to be possible. *See the big bang theory.

Do I win?

Also, it's obvious to anyone with half a brain that Santa carries no presents with him, but grabs them through the use of teleportating present bag, his hand goes in one end, comes out the other portal at the North Pole where an elf hands him the required present.
Also, he stops time to deliver the present. How? He simply does (Just as some things "just happened"

).

No. Especially if you're an Atheist.

The Big Bang is a THEORY. Parts are still unexplained. It is not what happened, it's our best guess as to what happened.

Personally, I believe electrons do NOT *jump* from different energy levels on an atom, they move in some yet-to-be-explained manner. But it's the best we've got so far.

Magic, on the other hand, is just people making up excuses for impossible things that happen in imaginationland.

"it's our best guess as to what happened," I can assume that Santa exists and that he delivers presents to little children all around the world, since things may be possible that we can not yet (or possibly ever) explain, you can't really disprove his existence, can you?

Look, I'm not treating this subject with any amount of seriousness, I really don't care. Santa isn't real in my opinion. Let's try to not get in a large argument over this?

I disagree with that trans-dimensional present compartment, assuming you're talking spacial dimensions. (That got me wondering about time's dimensions, I found this simple and easy to understand article: http://www.rahul.net/raithel/otfw/dimensions.html)

The following is based on my very small grasp of extra dimensions:

It's like if you have a line in the first dimension. Let's create a trans-dimensional warp to the second, third, or nth spacial dimension. It's still a line. It might have an infinitely small width and height, but it's still as close to a line as you can get. If anything, it's BIGGER traveling to a higher dimension, due to its extra properties. The same goes for a square. Put a square in the third dimension, and it will gain depth, making it slightly more cumbersome to travel with. Moving a cube to the 4th spacial dimension would give it another property, an axis 90 degrees to the XYZ axes. (Pronounced "Axe-ease". Is it spelt Axis still?). This will make the cube MORE cumbersome to travel with.

Traveling to a lower dimension would yield an even more unrealistic result. If you have a square, for example, and you break it down into the first dimension, you end up with an infinite amount of line segments. Not exactly optimizing space, now, is it? Take a cube, and break it down into an infinite amount of plane segments (squares).

Now, to me, it would seem that carrying an extra dimension, or an infinite amount of objects in a lower dimension would create a MORE cumbersome trip for Santa.

As for Santa listening to an iPod, Santa wouldn't do something like that, *sniff*, would he?

Oh Kurt_, you seem to post silly topics. I like it. TOO MUCH.

And I figured Santa couldn't be real since we didn't have a fireplace and my parents tried to tell me that Santa could get through the air vents and stuff. I just couldn't buy it - despite being young and mostly gullible, at times I just sat and stared at the air vents in our house, saying "This fat man cannot make it through here. It simply can't be done. If he uses the front door then people will get suspicious. If he uses the back door people call the police."

And then I got my Playstation with the awesome rumble controllers and Crash Bandicoot 3 '_'
