WTB: Dremmel.

I am planning on doing some mods to my PC case, so I need a dremmel. Who has a quality one with speed control and is willing to let it go cheap?

At a walmart near where I live. They had a one speed off brand dremmel like tool for $10 or $11. It comes with a bunch of heads too.

Get a lamp dimmer to go with it. Or get a light bulb socket adapter with plug in. And screw it into a lamp with a bulit in dimmer. Here is one on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/HEAVY-DUTY-Light-Bu ... p1638.m118

if all you can get is a single speed get a variac, should give lots of variation on the speeds

they also sell dimmer sliders and things that go between the wall and plug of the lamp/dremel, works great and they only cost like 10$ and honestly a cheap dremel is just as good as a brand name one for what we do

I would rather just be able to easily tell what speed it is at, I don't want to fiddle around with it for 20 minutes.

Um, why does it matter to you if its going exactly 5000 RPMs? Its like driving a manual transmission car, it can be nice to know how many RPMs the engine is going, but its not necessary. Just go off the sound, you'll have to use trial and error anyways to find the best speed for a given material.

Well how tough are these cheep ones then, because it might be better to spend the 50 and buy one that will last compared to 12 ever 2 monts on a new one.

like i said their well built enough to last a good long time with the sort of thing that we do here, ive had a real dremel and a ryobi multitool and both are very well made, the dremel was 30 and the ryobi i got for 15
