360 Laptop build questions

Well I am back with another question in my struggle. I am trying to use the fans as described in the endgadget article but when I am plugging them up, they aren't working, in the article Ben also mentioned that he would show how to wire 3 of them to a main 12 volt input in part 3, but he must have forgot to tell that part... Any ideas on what I can do to get power to 6 fans? Also while I'm here, I've got a problem with my hard drive cable that I extended. When I plug in my hard drive I can feel the disk spinning so I know that it is getting power, but the 360 doesn't recognize anything there. And then if I use a stock cable everything works fine, so I know that there is something amiss in my cable, and since it is getting power I figure it must be in the data wires. Any clues on that one. Thanks a lot in advance. I'm going to post some pictures up in the next couple of days.... You're gonna love this!

Also I meant to mention on the extended hard drive cable, I have tested all wires and all of them test good, also I cross referenced the placement of all wires and I am 100% positive that they are in the right connections.

As far as the fans. Hook all the anode wires together and all the cathode wires together. Then you just run one 12V cabe to the wires and everything is complete.

Okay, what you need to do is add a wire from the 12v+ pin on the DVD drive power cable, i think its pin 11 but you might want to check it. Then just connect this to the + on your fans, the negative can connect into the original fan power source.
