Screens.. what to do..

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Screens.. what to do..

Post by christian.kang »

So my friend gave me his old Intec Playstation 2 screen to use on my new portable and I thought I had got it to run on batteries but when I plugged my gamecube into it for testing the screen doesn't show anything and just the sound comes out. Does anyone know why this is? The battery I'm using is a 7.2V RC battery pack 3300mAH. Could it maybe be that I don't have sufficient voltage from the RC battery? I'm sort of confused. I'm thinking that it's probably just because I was being too rough with the screen as I stripped it down.

Did you attempt to wire it in with the PSOne A/V connector? That doesn't work as it only takes RGB from that port.

If that isn't the issue, post more details and some pictures.

So frustrating...

I think the screen not working was because that battery wasn't giving it enough "juice". So anyways, I plugged it into the wall and it works. But to my surprise, the screen is all wavy and the colors are really saturated. Here's a picture.

Anyone know how to fix this?
