Yeah, what's up with the server? I tried loading a page earlier this afternoon, and it took 20 minutes to get anything. (Yes, I timed it. It was that bad.)
Jeez it was fine for months... What happened? This is getting ridiculous.
Maybe some other server on the same connection is taking up more bandwidth than they should? A dedicated server shouldn't be this slow...

Yes, yesterday, as today, I had to "log in" again; pages sometimes loaded quickly, but as the day went on (UK time), the pages didn't load, or took ages to. It is certainly a "hit and miss" service at the moment.
Problem is that after a while people get hacked off and leave, only the diehard like some of us, will stay; then if too many people go, the site gets boring and everyone goes. Come on, let's get faster, and more reliable, service please!!

The site isn't on a dedicated server. That plan got ditched for a variety of reasons some time ago. These days the site still runs on a VPS. I would agree that the site has gotten worse as of late, although it hasn't been the greatest (performance-wise) for quite some time. The sluggishness of the past couple of days probably is due to another machine taking more than it's share of the resources. The same thing happened a number of months ago and it took a call to the provider to get them to do something about it.bicostp wrote:Yeah, what's up with the server? well i vote that we be switched to a dedicated server and that ben set up a paypal donation to help cover the costs! he is already getting some ad revenu from the main site and the ads on the forum and you add in donations then it should be feasable! this is rediculous and bacteria has a point. you find something interesting online follow the link and get to a site that is either unaccessable or slow to the point you just give up, there went another potential portabilizer!

I resorted to watching a new anime so I wouldnt go nuts as fast.
Death note (Subbed) not a bad show so far, I have seen up to episode 9.
I know a lot of people think it is stupid because the guy writes a name in a notebook named the Death note, and that person dies, but its much more than that, the guy has to picture THAT person's face and know their Full name.
