I guess you would like feeling the pain of getting shot too (really, it isn't that bad in war because you focus on other things and think less of pain). I like the non-invasive idea but, HTH do I tell the cap "X" or "Plant C4 on power line", etc. (you COD4 players know what game I am referring too).

I think most physically disabled people can adapt to using whatever they still have use of. Have you thought of looking into capacitance touch sensors? They don't need physical force to be activated and should be easy to wire up. Most are also quite cheap.

Yes I would like to feel the pain of getting shot. Dialed down considerably of course. And not just getting shot, feeling everything else in the environment. You don't think "X" or "plant C4 on power line." The cap, or any other device is FAR too primitive to detect that you are thinking about doing something in a game. That kind of sophistication is pure sci-fi right now. You have to think about physical, bodily actions, like moving your tongue left or right, or punching, flexing, kicking etc. You don't have to actually DO those actions you're thinking about, but it's apparently easier if you do.

That's why that video I linked to shows the guy lifting and moving virtual stones by actually using his arms in pushing and pulling motions. The kid with the chip in his brain thought about moving his tongue left to move left in Space Invaders, and moving it right to move right. I forgot what he thought about to fire. If you can find the video of him playing, you'll notice his tongue does move side to side slightly. You have to train yourself to be still.

I'm sorry but I always have extra thoughts in my head when playing games. I do think this is cool tech but I'll pass on the implants (you don't know what the ol' US gov't might try to do if they can sense your thoughts).
