Happy early Hanukkah! Hanukkah is almost Hanukkah backwards.

Just sayin'
It's a great ultraportable. I have an awesome desktop, but I can't carry it around with me, and sometimes I just want to go on my whatever when I'm somewhere else. It'll also double as a media player. I'm really looking forward to it.Dr. KillGood wrote:Whats so great about the "EEE PC" it has like 4GB HDD?

I'd get it if it cost less than a better 12" laptop, complete with CD AND Hard Drives!!!
And, well, it's actually not so small. A 12" laptop's largest dimension is 11". The EEE has a max of almost 9. That's about a 2.25" difference. So it is small, but compared to a superior 12" laptop, it's inferior.

I agree, the Eee isn't exactly a power user's computer. It can do basic word processing and surf the 'net over WiFi, but that's about all it's really good for. (And honestly my old Toshiba Tecra with a 200 mhz Pentium can do that, and I'd still be using it if the batteries hadn't crapped the bed.)
If you want a really small laptop, look at things like Lifebooks. 12-13" thin & light laptops are pretty good, too. I'd go for the latter. Pick up an inexpensive PCMCIA WiFi card and you'll have the rough equivalent of the Eee but with more screen and storage space.
As for loot, I'm hoping for a DVD recorder of some sort. (I looked and looked in the stores but couldn't find the model I was looking for, and I didn't feel like settling on one without any TV tuner or a beat up floor model.) That's pretty much all I'm after.

I'm not sure what you're having a problem with (I'm not a GIMP user) but if you load the GIF up in Adobe ImageReady, if will build up all of the frames for you, then export that to Photoshop and you can edit it from there.theelk wrote:...And jedi, I didn't realize it was a gif when I said I would do it. Actually, you're right on topic, since people give and receive presents for Christmas. An admin hijacked the thread.thehackerinside wrote:...What do you do at Christmas...
Yes, the rules technically state that staff can "...Get creative...", thus, no rules have been breached.bicostp wrote:...So when are we going to dust off the Santa hat avatars? It is tradition, after all...
Here, Retroyed, figured I would Santify your avvy.

For Christmas, I'm not entirely sure what I want.
Since it's winter and I can't currently ride, I think I'll put off parts for my bike until Christmas...
If I do, I'm hoping for a new read dérailleur/hanger, a set of new brakes, a new shifter, a bash guard setup and new crank...but meh...
My parents will end up spending $400+ on my bro and I wont get *$%#, just like every year...
