While driving along the highway...

In Beto Junction, KS, I saw these big-ass wind turbine blades... each on a seperate trailer.

Each blade is about 145 feet long and weighs about 6500 kg. That's about 7 tons.

Damn!

We have those things traveling down the highway all the time here in Illinois. They clog up traffic real good.

You should see them making a turn on the on/off ramps on a clover, I don't know how, but they do. Drivers got skills.

biggest thing I ever seen on the road was a large trailerhome (Or whatever you call them).

I guess if you wanna power a whole town on wind power, you need huge ass blades for a huge ass generator.

Out of sheer curiosity, and my evil ways...what is while it rotated it swung off...like a giant blade just spearing at like 75 MPH...I hate to be that guy.

Have you seen how slowly these things turn? It would barely make a blade length's distance away from the turbine shaft before falolloping to the ground.

I actually saw a special on discovery channel about a wind farm out in the gulf of mexico somewhere...

They had a whole part on how they do the transportation of the parts, and those look just what I saw.

The windfarm generates enough power to power a city.

Wow, those pictures of those turbines remind me of how there is nothing in Kansas. Absolutely nothing whatsoever. Well, they do have hills, just so you can see how there is nothing around you.

I've been to Pennsylvania before. Completely different than hilly ol' Blizzardland here, but I imagine PA's nothing is nothing compared to Kansas's nothing.

Windmills do not work that way!!

But yeah, I've seen some windmill generators locally, but no huge farms of them
