Well anyone who has ever talked to me about computers knows I generally fail at them and I am almost always having problems with them. My computer is a Compaq Pressario SR1130NX with 512 megs of Ram, 64 megs of video memory integrated into my mobo, and Direct X 9.0c. For some reason I can't run anything in full screen except Touhou and Stepmania, even my emulators screw up when I try and run them full screen(they might run for a few minutes but then it'll randomly bring me back to my desktop.) Also whenever I try and run HL2 it loads up the level and then restarts my computer. Could someone help me out with this? I have a feeling it's something really easy and I'm just being dumb.

"64 megs of video memory integrated into my mobo" - there's your problem. Of course you can't run HL2 on this, your graphics capability is like a hamster in a wheel. You won't be able to put in a graphics card without changing your mobo, which might mean new memory, etc - may as well get a cheap off-the-shelf PC, last year's spec - that should run it fine.

Half life 2 should theoretically be able to run though since it only requires 64 anyway. Also I didn't originally have this problem when I first bought the computer but now I can't even run zsnes in fullscreen for some reason and UT 2004 no longer works.
