Video Camera Help!

My JVC GR-D270U keeps displaying "03. SAFE GUARD MODE: EJECT AND REINSERT TAPE" whenever i turn it on. I tried ejecting it, but it still doesn't help. The camera won't do anything in safeguard mode. Please help!
Am I missing an eyebrow?

Check your tape. If there is a switch on it somewhere, check to make sure that it is set to record mode.
