My analog nub is acting up. Sometimes it randomly jumps about, which makes playing Cave Story quite obnoxious while I am trying to use the directional pad.
When I opened it up, I realized that the analog nub never makes contact with metals; it notably presses the four contacts onto a strange gelatine-esque rubber clear block which in turn presses on contacts.
I turned the block over a few times then put it back, then the problem resided for a few days. It is back now, though.
I was wondering how I might fix this, and also how the signal passes through that rubber block at all?
