My wife gave me my birthday present early this year since I'm building an FM transmitter for my Dad. Anyway, I finally know what its like to use a real soldering iron. The picture is kind of crappy since I took it with my phone, but just in case you can't tell, its a Weller WES51 soldering station. I was most surprised by how long it took to heat up....ambient to 550 degrees in about five seconds.

it's awesome to go from a cheap iron to a nice station
I just got a decent station a few weeks ago too

I have a weller from my father, but you can't set the temperature on mine.

That's not surprising, my weller gets hot EXTREMELY quick too.
