Gonna make a SNESp...

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Still looks hard to hold though. I would really move up the controls, if I was you. Like, try making a cardboard model and feel there the controls are optimal. Don't forget to make it of correct height, though

I agree, you should move the controls up more. When they're too low, all the weight of the portable is on your fingers, which gets tiring pretty quickly. (The weight will also feel amplified, due to leverage.) If they're higher, the force is distributed more evenly, which is easier and more comfortable to hold.

Try holding a book toward one end, then hold it in the middle. You'll see what we mean. :)

You're calling them rude for giving his their opinion, as he asked. They did nothing wrong and are only suggesting he move the controls. He doesn't have to do anything they say, he is his own person and online, there is no peer pressure to speak of. He's simply asking for help and they are providing it. You, however, seem to want them to stop offering him help, thus retarding him. I feel it is quite rude for one to retard another, don't you?

Don't forget that the size of the project is decided by the board itself, until you have accurate measurements, you can't be sure of how it will look. To give you an idea, the cartridge itself is roughly 5 and 7/16th inches wide.

Overall design looks good, nice work on it. I thought about my next portable being an SNES with a modified GameBoy Original case. Maybe that will work out.

Good luck with everything,

~Adam~

I'm sorry if I sounded rude, but I was really just trying to help you make a good portable.

You could have proven the point without quoting the image again, kurt. Way to be part of the problem :P

These actually look very similar, but also very comfortable. Maybe I should design mine similar... Then again, nah...

Better, anyone?

Well, I tried the book thing and, yeah my finger started to hurt.
So thanks to everone who said that the controls should be higher.
And I changed the buttons on the back too. Better or worse?

And sorry Kurt_ for not knowing how to behave in a forum.

PS. I did a stupid thing yesterday. I grabbed a electrical cable that was pluged in. Damn that hurt. And yes, it's ok to laugh at me cause that was really stupid.
