Sunshine wasn't THAT bad, in fact it was very fun. It might not be as good as Mario 64 but it was still a solid game.
Meh, I don't post much.

Houston, we have a problem. It seems every store (with the exception of GameCrazy, evidently) is getting Galaxy not on Monday, but Tuesday, and some, like BestBuy and Target, are putting it out on sale as late as Wednesday. I saw this article, and immediately started calling stores to find out if the information was accurate. Lo and behold, it is, so they make us wait yet another day to play Mario's latest adventure. *sigh* At least I got some good prank calls to unsuspecting NOA and Sony reps about the whole ordeal. Sky knows where I'm coming from! XD

Let's just say me and Sky had some 3-way phone call fun that involved some very stupid NOA reps, heavy European accents, and a Sony customer service guy who will never get 15 minutes of his life back. That's what they get for putting us on hold for 7 minutes! Check out this if you wanna get a general idea of what went down.

That's not what I'm advocating at all. By no means am I saying that people shouldn't bother with newer games simply because they don't "know their roots", per se, but I do feel that they should respect the fact that though you may not enjoy a game or type of game, it may still do positive things for the industry as a whole. One's taste in games is completely their own, but even genres I'm not particularly fond of still garner my respect, simply because they have done things for gaming that are very positive.

I hate people who type in little unreadable text like this. Why not add a P.S., put it in italics, or, if you must make it smaller, make it 'small' so it's still readable. Like this.

Much better. We should change this to the default text size.

In all honesty, why do you even play games then? :?
That's like saying "Why do you even watch TV?" to someone who doesn't like sitcoms.
Terrible analogy. You see, unlike sitcoms are for TV, 3D platformers are the core foundation of just about every 3D real-time game on the market. 3D action games, beat-em-ups, hell, even many recent FPS games all draw influence from platformers of the same dimension. Just look at Super Mario 64. It's an entire package, and nearly every game nowadays draws from that formula. Sure, it's been tweaked numerous times over the years, but the core gameplay hasn't changed much at all. My point is, even if you don't particularly enjoy some 3D platformers, realize that virtually any recent game you play uses some elements from this genre; not to mention giving such great innovation credit where it's due.

You know, for someone with such a mastery of the English language, you sure didn't pick your words too wisely there.

Ugh...You sound so utterly stuck-up...
Can you do anything besides spit up what every game review site said about some old Nintendo games? "Super Mario 64 set the standards for blablablaba", "_______ innovation ____________ innovative innovation through innovating", "The gameplay is what really matters..."
GRAH! Believe me, I love Nintendo and the games that go with their systems, but you so blatantly regurgitated every good statement about a famous Nintendo game that it became sickening.

Oh, and "Terrible analogy", and "You know, for someone with such a mastery of the English language, you sure didn't pick your words too wisely there."?

You make me want to throw up. It was a perfect analogy used as a perfect response. You know, for someone with such a mastery of gaming, you sure didn't pick your words too wisely there..

Benol, I respect your opinion, despite my want for this new Mario game.
Valve is the best company.

I respect benol's opinion completely, I just felt it warranted a response. And if you had half a brain, you would've read the follow-up to that post, which explained pretty much every complaint you had with the original.

Oh, and the wonderful thing about our argument up to this point is that it was fairly civil and kept personal attacks out of the situation. Thanks for taking a dump on that.

According to the Sunday flyers, Target, Circuit City, Best Buy, and all the other stores around me except Wally World are getting it on either Tuesday or Wednesday. But, that Wally World ad also claims that they will have Brawl on 12/3, I'm going to have to call them to confirm that Galaxy will actually be available tomorrow. Wish me luck.

I'm not sure if this is only a regional promotion or not, but the weekly Toys R Us advertisements state that they're handing out a $25 gift card with each purchase of Super Mario Galaxy. Just a heads up guys.
