Most 3rdparty screens not only have a crappy resovolution (like mine), but also only support RGB, so no. You - most likely - can't use it.

Just get a PSOne pinout and test, or google the TFT chips

Pff, screw ebay. I went to a specialty tools shop in town and found the bit there for $4. "E4 Torx Socket For Electrical Ignition Switches on GM" if it helps anybody. The bit's a tiny bit too small, E5 is the right size, but they don't make E5 size with the extension to fit in small holes like these...

I too was wondering "N65"?

I got fed up with those wretched screws on the N64 case, I tried the melted pen approach and it failed big time for me. I bought a screwdriver off e-bay and found it excellent. You can also dremel the top of the case off around the screws, lift off the top case, dremel down the plastic posts, use a disk cutter to score a groove in the offending screw heads and then remove them with a standard Phillips screwdriver. I do that too.

I just didn't want to go with the titles that everybody else is doing (Adding a letter or something...) Thought N65 seemed kinda fitting. Yeah so anyway, I'm having trouble with this screen regardless of the thirdpartyness. The plastic holding the back diffusing glass is really brittle and many parts of it have broken off. There's also not even enough space for LEDs next to the glass, they used a really really thin bulb... So I dunno. I'm trying to get this done by the weekend. (I have more spare time than you can possibly belive and trust me it's doable.) Ironically 2 of the game stores in my town that get old consoles/accessories just sold their screens in the past week. xD Since I'm trying to get this done so fast, I'm avoiding ordering on eBay.

Are those handheld TVs easy to get? Also, would a screen for the GCN or one of the other last gen consoles be applicable?

Hey so I'm looking at possibly using a 7" screen. Would that be too big?

I'm also unsure of how to make the "DC-DC Converter" can anybody walk me through that? (This *is* my first portable if you haven't noticed. XD)

I'm finally through the case, at least! Ended up resorting to the dremel. It felt good to get it open.

Another question - The wiki says to desoder the 50 pins of the expansion slot on the bottom. I did. So am I supposed to completely remove it? And if so what do I do about the 8 big pins holding it on?

Think about it like this, the PSP screen is only 4.3 inches, and its quite big for most people, 7 inches is just overkill.

Its just for Memory cards and Rumble packs right? If it is, then yes, but if I was you, I'd just wire a memory card to it instead, just in case you need it.

Thanks, bacteria. That was rather helpful. Right now where I'm at is I've gotten the thing apart... I've desoddered everything that is getting desoddered (Including the video and power ports... Shoulda thought that one through... Testing is pretty much impossible for now.) Tonight I'm going to sodder the cartridge slot's cable to the holes (I completely desoddered and removed the pins...) and then I'm leaving town for the weekend. I can't think of anything else I can do when I get back since I need to wait for the screen and/or the TI board to come in the mail to do anything else as far as I know.

I burnt my finger horribly on my soddering iron today so I guess a break is all for the best. Lol.

Sorry about having so many posts, btw. When I said I had more free time than you can possibly imagine... I meant it.
