Got it fixed.

I wired up 3 different 555' circuits to blink at different times with 3 defferent color LEDs. Last night it was working perfectly on the proto board. Then when I got home from school I checked it again and it worked perfectly. So then I decided to extend the wires on the LEDs so the colors would mix better for my jack o lantern.

After I soldered the wires and plugged them in, all the LEDs do is blink at the same time! Nothing is shorted, I didnt change any components. And I cant figure out what is causing this problem.

Could it be that the LEDs are so far away from everything that when the current gets to the LEDs, the spacing, so to speak, in the current isnt there anymore?:?

How about initiating them at different times? Let current through one IC555, wait a second (or whatever half-interval you've set), turn the next on, and the same for the last. Technically, if all three circuits routes are the same, they really should blink at the same time.

You wouldn't happen to have access to any gates or counters, would you?

That would make sense, if you tell 3 guys to turn flashlights off and on at 1 second intervals, they'll all do it at the same time unless you start them at different times.

Since electricity travels at close to the speed of light, I doubt you could tell the difference from the longer wires.

I figured it out, I did have it wired incorrectly.

When I rewired the LEDs I forgot to connect them to their respective resistors. So it works fine now. Ill post a video once im done carving my pumpkin.

To get the different timings, I just changed the values of the one of the resistors on each circuit.

Actually, electricity through wires travels at about the speed of molasses. But because they're all jumbled together and the likes blah blah blah chain reaction blah blah blah.
