Help finding a camcorder driver

I just recorded a school project on my sister's Sony Handycam Digital 8 dcr-trv250; however, she lost the driver installation CD a long time ago, and I really need to find the drivers for this camera so I can start editing this video. Thanks!

Well, here's a Sony USB driver. I don't think this includes any editing software but it may let you at least copy video.

Thanks, bic! I didn't think Sony's official site would have drivers for something this old. Shame on me for not going there first.

Are you sure you need a driver?

My experience with camcorders is admittedly limited, and my digital camcorder experience is limited to the mini-DV format, but I still think there is a good chance you don't need any special drivers other than the ones that ship with Windows Movie Maker or another low-end piece of editing software.

I know that for my camera I just have to hook up the firewire cable, set the proper mode on the camera, and open one of my cheapo editing programs to load up the video.

I think for that camera you only need the drivers if you're using one of the USB features.
