I know this is kinda Grammar Nazi-ish, but I am actually being helpful. No yelling at people or calling them out, just some nice help with common mistakes.
USAGE:
Their/There/They're
This is the plague of all writing, no matter where it is. It almost always leads to confusion. Sometimes which one to use can be confusing. So here's how it's done!
Their- Possessive ambiguous gender second-person pronoun
Their dog is in the yard.
There- Meaning in or at that place, at that point in an action, or in that matter.
Let's go to the store over there.
They're- Contraction for "they are"
They're going to the store.
To/Too/Two
One of the most common mistakes people make. Can sometimes lead to confusion.
To- Preposition used for expressing motion or direction toward a point, person, place, or thing
We went to the store.
Too- Also or in addition to. Can also be used to express in excess
John came to the store too.
We bought too much.
Two- Most people don't mix this one in, but sometimes it happens. The second number in a sequence
We bought two gallons of milk.
It's/Its
Another EXTREMELY common mistake. Doesn't always lead to confusion, but can be annoying.
It's- Contraction for "It is"
It's very hot outside.
Its- Possessive second-person pronoun
The cat shed its fur coat in the summer.
