Hey You! Pikachu! Questions.

Post by HotDog-Cart »

I have some questions about possibly the weirdest game for n64.

I've been a fan of this game for a year. I own it, with the microphone, but I have a problem. My n64's psu doesnt work well, so I cant play this game.

I was wondering, if I downloaded an emulator, and a rom of Hey You Pikachu!, could I even play it?

(I have the game, so no legal issues)

Like, This game requires a microphone, and I dont know how I could get pikachu to respond to me and such in the game (rom), if I have no way of contacting it.

Is there a plugin or setting that enables the standard PC microphone for use in Hey You Pikachu rom?

Because if I cant use my Laptop mic to talk to pikachu, I cant play the game as that whole game is basically using the n64 mic.

See what Im saying?

Can someone help me with this?

I suppose you'd have to find an emulator that is capable of emulating the N64 mic, using a computer microphone...

I'm pretty sure there is one out there...

what's a PSU? Power Supply? If thats all thats wrong, just buy a new one, I'm sure you could find a new in box one from a 3rd party company on Amazon.com or eBay.

I can't buy stuff from the net anymore. My paypal is messed. So yea, I can't buy one. The n64 is in a box anyway, as well I'm cleaning.

I don't even know why you would want to go through all of that trouble just to play that game. It was about as fun as repeatedly stabbing yourself in the throat with a long, rusty, sword. That might be generous. The stupid yellow rat thing won't listen at all.
Meh, I don't post much.

No emulator has support for it, and probably ever will.

The game sucks.

You must have a high-pitched kid's voice for it to work at all.

Microphone? I didn't know the N64 could use one! Were there any other N64 games using a mic, or able to? Where did it connect into?? Just curious!

Even with a high pitched voice the stupid yellow rat only responds half of the time.

You have it the wrong way. The game responds better to lower, and deeper voices. Not higher pitched ones. Check the wiki + its source for the proof.

aww, really? I was hoping it was high pitched voices, then I could buy it and show all my friends you have to pretend you're gay to play it (which you have to do anyway). Just be sitting there "Thunderbolt Pikachu!" in a super gay high pitched voice, lol, hours of fun.

In a related note, I discovered on Super Mario Bros for DS (the remade semi-3D one) that with the Yoshi game where you "blow" into the mic it actually works best if you say "blah blah blah blah" super fast, its SOOO funny to watch someone play it and do that.

why are you just making things up? go down to ANY used video game store and buy a used PSU for $5. oh right because you dont even have the game or else you would use first hand sources to make claims about how well it responds to voice and not wikipedia.
