Dude, how did you get the polycase? What I mean is did you call it in? and if you did, what did you say? I'm making a psone portable, all the electronics in it work so I need a housing. Also could you give me tips on how to mount the screen and the controlls?

Yes, I called them and talked to them real politely.

For the screen, you can go a couple of ways - either use screws and hex nuts (which is professional and easy to remove the screen later if you need to) or you can hot glue it down (I really don't recommend this, because anytime you glue something down, you're going to need to pull it back up because you missed something or something isn't working - it happens every time).

As for the controls, I hacked up a controller, cut holes in the case for them, superglued and then hot glued them in place and used bondo for the rest (both the marine putty on the inside of the case to help secure it and the spot filler to smooth things out). After placing in the buttons and wiring the control boards, I hot glued the boards in place. I'm not a fan of clicky tactile switches and instead prefer the feel of the original controls.

I find securing the screen part of the screen with hotglue is great, even if you secure everything with screws too.

FYI, I just used marine putty and superglue to put to the original screen posts onto the case. Works great, a nd best of all it's removable!

But didn't you seal the case then so you couldn't get into it again to do repairs?

No, it can definitely be gotten into, but it requires some MAJOR bondoing/painting after it's done... I bought it from him, and though it's beautiful, there were a couple outstanding problems (screen flickering, started minor, but got to the point of unplayability, as well as buttons that relayed multiple signals) that needed to be fixed. I did it, but it was a VERY messy task. In all honesty, navigating that thing and getting it open is probably the hardest thing I've ever done in the realm of portablizing. I must say, though, the inside and case are built like a tank, really solid stuff in there!
