Printer Purchase Question

I am looking for a printer with the following specs:

-Below 150 USD
-Ink Cartridges that are cheaper to replace than buying a new printer
-Average/High Print Quality
-Color
-USB connection
-Plug-and-play connectivity
-All-in-one device (ONLY printer, scanner, coppier)
-Small

I am trying to minimize my deskspace that is taken up and my printer is broken, so I was wondering if you guys could help. I wouldn't mind buying a printer and scanner seperately, but only if they are small. Thanks!

Avoid HP "photosmart" printers. Ours died within 6 months of buying it. Look at something like a Lexmark or a Canon (if they still make printers).

As for cartridge price, have you ever tried refilling? The ink colors are close enough that you won't notice the difference on most memos, but for photos you're better off bringing your card to Wal-Mart. (Actually, having them printed at the store is better than doing it yourself, since inkjet ink isn't as durable as the methods the pros use, and it's usually much cheaper per copy.)

I agree, for printer cartriges, refilling is the way to go.
