So many games, so little dough...
I'm at quite the loss, guys. My Wii's been broken for a while now, and I just got it fixed, noticing there's some great games I missed, and a few that are coming up quick! Not to mention the 360 games coming out. Problem is, I've only got enough for about 2 games.
Metriod Prime 3 Corruption, Super Mario Galaxy, Assassin's Creed, Battalion Wars 2, Mass Effect, the list goes on! Not to mention the fact that they've either just recently come out or are coming very soon. So what games are under your radar, and for hypothetical purposes, if you were in my position, which two would you grab? Thanks!

BWii and Mario Galaxy are all I'm buying this year (now that SSBB is delayed
), but Mass Effect for 360 looks freaking cool! (I don't have a 360, so that's not possible for me)
BTW: I already have Metroid Prime 3.

It's coming out on effing February 10, 2008. The only good thing about the new release date is that it's a Sunday (meaning my friends and I will be able to do midnight launch, and a day-long launch party).Kurt_ wrote:SSBB (Don't know when it's coming out).

Yeah, that happened to my friend's Wii after about a month of heavy use.Skyone wrote:Oh shi-- when does this happen? Mine gets some weird black pixels when I go to the Home menu on some games - I've ignored it since day one though.Jongamer wrote:(About to be on my 3rd Wii, friggin' pixels from overheated GPU)

I guess if I were in your boat I would get one for each system.
For the 360 I would have no choice, but to go with Mass Effect. I'm really looking forward to this one myself and knowing of your appreciation for RPG games I imagine you would enjoy it as well.
Despite my lack of love for the Wii, putting myself in your shoes, I would have to go for Metroid Prime: Corruption. I haven't cared for a Mario game since Super Mario Bros. 3, so that counts Super Mario Galaxy out right away for me. Thus leaving Metroid, which could be cool. Just a shame it doesn't have online, but if the campaign is deep it could be worth the investment.
Otherwise... There's always Assassin's Creed for the 360. That's a game that I would love to get, but probably will have to pass on due to all of the other greatness coming out in the final months of the year...

Yeah, I beleave the problem is with the Wiiconnect24, because the fans are not on during standby so the GPU builds up so much heat it pretty much burns it, the other day I felt the bottom of the Wii when it was Horizontal on connect24 for a hour or 2, and that was easily hotter than the 360 after like 2 hours on Gears of War, roughly 160F, but thats just guessing with the back of my hand.Skyone wrote:Oh shi-- when does this happen? What I do is I wait for it to get REALLY bad then send it in to Nintendo to get repaired and say to them WTH happened here.
Well if they get enough Wii's like this, I'm sure they will fix the problem.
Only other problem I have seen with a Wii is my friend's Wii, it will not read most Wii games, but reads all GCN games, it used to only do these disc read problems when it was played for a couple hours and then when we switched games it wouldnt read any other Wii games.

Nice! Glad to hear we'll be seeing you online soon. I would definitely be up for rockin' out to H3 one of these days. Typically Ben and I are on along with some other people that are connected to the site in some, way, shape, or form.CronoTriggerfan wrote:That's the problem, there's just TOO MANY GAMES coming out!I'm still torn. Mass Effect does look cool, but Assassin's Creed is just too tempting to ignore. And I know how much you can't stand the Wii, but I must say, Galaxy does intrigue me. Oh well. The only reason I'm so short on cash is that I just bought an Xbox 360 wireless network adapter, so I can get live later this month!
And seeing as I picked up Halo 3 the other day, maybe we should hook up sometime and frag some noobs. XD

Gaming is really killing me the last few weeks... One week Halo 3, the next PGR4, and then last week The Orange Box. I think I have a couple weeks to catch my breath until GH3 comes out. Then after that its Mass Effect and hopefully nothing else for the rest of the year. I've got to call off the hounds at some point. LOL
Thankfully they are only offering Rock Band as a bundle this year, so I should be able to avoid it until '08. Otherwise, I would have liked to give Eternal Sonata a shot, but just can't justify buying it at this time. I guess there's always the used bin someday though.
