IR Keyboard Help

I bought a Philips/Magnavox WebTV IR keyboard yesterday ($5 at thrift store FTW). I want to use it on my PSP, but can't figure out how to 1) figure out the signal it sends for each key or 2) tell the PSP which signal means each letter. The program I'm using on the PSP is pikey (in AFKIM). Right now only stuff like the power and volume buttons on the keyboard make any letters appear on the PSP (which are random-ism strings of letters), but I know the other keys work (my laptop said there was another device jamming it from searching for other IR devices).
If anyone knows how to do either (or both) or knows where I could download the files to use it, I would greatly appreciate it.

Does anyone at least know of a program that can record IR signals? If I could at least figure out what the code it sends out for each letter is, I might be able to figure out how to make it work.

EDIT: Wow, I bumped this after almost exactly 24 hours.

Why not just buy a pre-made one?

It is pre-made, its just not a very standard one so no one else uses it. And $5 is a lot better than ~$30+ for one that everyone else uses.

Do you have an IR receiver that can hook up to the computer?

I have one on my laptop (and a couple other laptops), just don't have a program to record the signals with. Theres also my PSP, but I'm guessing it would be easier to use a PC.

Got an external one? If so, what brand? Usually you cannot render built-in proprietary IR sensors as learners.

You can get the computer to recognize it with this IR receiver project and WinLIRC (I use it on my HTPC; the PS2 DVD remote is great):

You could use it as your PC keyboard too, but unfortunately WinLIRC only does half the job. (It encodes and decodes signals, but it doesn't do system commands.) You'll need another program to do that.
