Sonic is in Brawl!

Sweet, I read this this morning.

I knew since I bought SUper Smash bros melee that Sonic will be in the next one, and it pretty much confirmed my thoughts when a While ago I was reading a news article about a poll they had in Japan of what non-nintendo characters they wanted in Brawl and Sonic by far won the most votes.

And I don't know if you guys have heard but at a Nintendo conferance yesterday, they annouced that SSBB will have online co-op.

And here is some other things they confirmed for the Wii, not Brawl related.

DS demo channel was confirmed, Everybody votes channel is supposed to get an update that lets you rate your games that you have played, but I have no clue when that is supposed to come out, and they annouced a few Wii ware titles, one was a Final Fantasy Crystal Chronical game and I forget the others.

Then I was just reading a few min ago, Nintendo says they have over 100 titles by 3rd party devs for Wiiware in development, and they say they are getting overflooded with titles as devs flock to support Wiiware.

I think this is gonna be a good couple years for the Wii, now they just need to have voice chatting and No friend codes and the Online aspect of the Wii will be perfect.

And on a side note, I am using my wii and a USB keyboard to type this post.

Well one reason sonic looks wired in this game might be because that is the first time sonic in in game not made in house at sega. (But I bet they are using the same 3D model of him that they use for the other sonic games.) And also using a game engine not made by sega to render sonic. Instead their using the game engine that was created by Nintendo and Hal to render nintendo's characters in the game. That probly means that Snake will look a little werid too.

On the flip side. Mario and Sonic at the Olimpics is being made at sega. So mario and his friends look a little different because the game is not being made at nintendo. And their using a game engine made by sega. But nintendo does has some one there overseeing their part of the game.

He's a boss in kirby games. Well, kind of. He sends out other people to kill you, and in a later level you get to fight him with a sword.

On another note, I honestly hope they keep all the old chracters. They should really do so, because everyone has a favorite, and if you take them out, then what's the point?

I guess sonic will have some neat moves, but honestly I think he just looks weird in this game.

As am I; this game was supposed to be out at launch, and now it won't even be out this year? WTF, Nintendo? I hope the delay is not from licensing issues for Sonic. If it is, that's a very stupid reason to delay it, as I would much rather get it early than get it late with Sonic.

I want this game and I want it now!

I still think they ruined the character list, and have very few stages.

It's SSB, so it's bound to be good, but I'm still really pissed off. I'm thinking Melee + 360 right now. It has Orange box, Halo 3, Bioshock.... Nintendo has like, 8 games out. In total.

No, 8 games worth playing (yet alone buying). They have like 1000 crappy games to "train yourself in minutes a day", but the last time I checked, most people buy a system to play games, not go to school. Nintendo has squandered the DS and Wii's potential. People now days want online games, so Nintendo decides "lets not put online play in our games, even though our systems have wireless built in!".

I really thought a Wii would be pretty cool, but after playing it and seeing how stupid Nintendo is being with it, I've decided a 360 would be my first choice, second would be a PS3. And thats even if I had to pay.

Agreed. Everyone is buying a Wii for the concept, but Nintendo is doing horribly using it. If only I could make the next super smash brothers game.

Few? I don't like some of them, but there's still ~15.

I agree on the character list. They're really scraping the bottom of the barrel, just like how they're running out of animals to make into Pokemon (I tried to make another 100 back in 2004. It was hard! Hippo, Penguin, Polar Bear, Plankton, Buffalo, etc. Polarage evolves into Antarcane!) If they keep going like they have been, I think in the next game I we'll seen more villans (Ganon, King Dedede) and maybe some classic non-Nintendo characters like Simon Belmont and the Contra guys.

Oh man, I know!

Me and my friends were speculating on whether he'd be in it or not. I'd almost rather see Zero, though, his play mechanics would suit the series better.

That's kinda dumb to say when you think about it. The Wii's been out for less than a year now; if developers could take all the possibilities the Wii has and just spit out the perfect game, that'd be great, but evolving gameplay for a new generation takes time. That's almost like saying, "We've got paper, we've got paint; so why hasn't every artist painted a masterpiece yet?!?!" Not to mention there are quite a few games that use the Wii's potential quite well. WarioWare, RE4, Metroid Prime 3, and of course the upcoming Galaxy and Nights.
