well I'm gonna try and give it straight 7 volts into the 7808

I have the screen running off its own set of 4 AAs and off of the original backlight
with power into the 7808 Ima try one set of batteries now
ok now it works

must been a bad solder joint on my part because everything is working fine now and I had been wiring power up to the 7808 before

maybe I just needed gannon's pm for it to work

just power into the 7808, in both in and out and ground into the shielding of the switch

I think I know what is wrong in the pic though kurt. did you supply power to the pin all the way on the left of the screen's board ( side opposite where the video is)

my screen stopped working until I gave power to that pin also

I guessed about the 7808 and did that long ago. Did you need to connect the grounds for the systems or was the A/V ground enough?

You mean the unmarked pin that the ribbon cable doesn't connect to?

Have you tried it without the sound board? Just the screen and the board under it.

the one you have circled in red is one of the v+

the blue one was what I used as ground

the one you currently have as ground is what I used for video

and the one you labeled a av ground is the other v+

I'd check the voltages off that other small board first to be 100% positive first

Are you sure your board isn't upside down from mine? If it's not, it appears we have different screens, because I made these pinouts myself and I'm very confident in the accuracy of them.

I'll figure it out. If it's V+ it'll give me 13V when hooked up in the stock configuration.

(Turbo: Are you going to have a P2 plug? Where are you getting your plug from / will you have an extra one?

I dunno, I got the unlabeled pin as a ground. are you getting the screens power led to come on?
