I need a free .wmv to .mov converter.

Do you have a technical question that doesn't really fit a specific console? Want some general info on electronics, hacking, making cookies, etc? Here's the place to ask! Go nuts.

Software is always "free".
Although, that is frowned upon in most societies. For more information, see...

NO. >:C

Also, it can be risky, viruses and such. (Though, I would always recommend the 3rd Google result.)

Am I being subtle enough or should I edit this?

edit by mod: Don't post links to searches for illegal software. -bic

haha, yeah, real subtle

But yes, I do know that software can always easily be found "free". I felt like getting something legit though. Sometimes, you can find something free that is better than something commercial. I tried quicktime, but stupid Apple thinks it would be funny to not let a windows file open in it. I'm not laughing.

BTW I'm running good 'ol XP here.

Um, yeah. Because Quicktime doesn't use the DirectShow system for its video and Apple doesn't want to pay Microsoft license fees to use their codec. Asking QuickTime to play Windows Media files is like asking Nintendo to make a Mario game for the 360.
