Sega Saturn Save Battery Question

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Is there a way to mod the Saturn so that you don't need a battery or do you have to have a Back Up cart?

you need a memory cart or the battery, you could i guess hardwire it but if it ever lost power you would lose all your save.
