why is my NES Acting this way

Clean the cartridge slot contacts, and it should work.

Looks like a video cable/contact/chip problem. Do the games play alright?

That doesn't look like a cartridge slot problem. That looks like a video out problem.

1) Clean the A/V out contacts with rubbing alcohol. Make sure to get INSIDE the thing somehow. Maybe with a toothpick.

2) Change cables, see if that helps.

3) Clean the A/V in contacts on your TV.

Also, it could be a NTSC <=> PAL problem.

I don't think so. I mean, NTSC and PAL use a different amount of Scanlines, and i'm pretty sure the refresh rate is different too - If you had the wrong format, not even that much of an image would come up.

I agree with the A/V though - It's probably either what creates the signal, or the wires or something. I don't know, i've never seen something quite like that before. RUn some tests, try different wires or systems. If you figure out what it is, let us know - i'm sort of curious now

My one friend told me to get a Universal Adapter and it thinks it might work. That would be unusual i Tried Differeny adapters and dont have a RF switch to see that might work im only using AV whitch its cheap to afford. Ill try to clean it

I think it does have something to do with the av. it seems they are sending or interpreting incorrect signals for some reason, note that some games use this effect on purpose, and when playing them on the pc these effects don't work.

try cleaning the av, both externally and internally.

I recently bought a NES to satisfy my retro needs (and it was way underpriced for the whole package, 50 euros (about 60 bucks) for 28 games, 5 controllers, a Zapper and the console!). I experienced similar graphical glitches with the games which was caused by obvious lack of cleaning of the cartridges.

Simply take a cotton stick (or whatever they are in English) and rub the cartridge's connectors (no need to open the cartridges, they should fit in without ripping it apart). Rub until nothing black is getting off them. Get ready to do this a lot if you're not going to get some cleaning solution like DeoxIT.
