Need help fixing grub

Post by Sparkfist »

I made a stupid mistake and updated the software on Ubuntu. That was stupid because now I can't access Windows XP.

I have everything setup properly.

Code: Select all

Title Windows XP
root (hd0,2)
makeactive
chainloader +1
If anyone knows how I can get it working properly, thank you. I'd like to be able to play WoW again.

More data would help, like what partition and drive Windows is on, the rest of your grub entry, SATA or IDE drives, etc.

Taking a guess, is that the root entry is wrong, as (hd0,2) would mean that Windows is installed on the third partition of the first drive. While possible, it's rather odd for Windows XP to be installed there.
