After having measured everything... the design has had a few revisions.
I've carved the (very) basic shape out of a block of wood.
And you can see my sketching of buttons and such.
Everything is accurately sized.
The screen will actually stick out like Ben's PS2p.
The cartridge slot is nestled right behind where the screen will be.
EDIT: The cartridge slot is shaded red where it will be.
The batteries will be between the screen and the n64 mobo, right underneath the cart slot.
I decided to just use one battery pack. It was 8.4v 3000mah.
I'm going to remove one cell to make it 7.2v.
Two reasons for that.
1) That's all the voltage I really need.
2) To cut down on the size(length).
The L/R buttons will still nestle on the top.
The Z button will be inset into the grips on the back.
Here are a couple photos:
( General shot ... Ben's book came in the mail yesterday! )

( In my hand so ya'll can see the basic size. )

Some might ask as to my lack of progress... Work's been killin' me lately.
As soon as I can finish carving the positive, I'll have to start hitting the garage sales for parts for my vacu-forming machine.
Feel free to ask questions and post critiques.
