Right Controll board question

as seen in Figure 7-23, page 158 in Ben's book, two parts that are used to build the right control board are not listed in the parts list. They are the .1uf capacitor and 1uf capacitor. I tried buying them from radio shack, but they dont match the looks, nor can I tell their polarity. The picture on page 160 shows the parts as parts that are identical to ones on the NES board. Can anyone help me out on where you get the parts? IF they are from the NES board, where do I have to desoulder them?

Capacitor? yeh, uf is ultra frad so it is capacitors.

The commonly look like black cyclinders with 2 leads on the bottom, but can also be blue, or even another shape.

as long as they have the right number, then all you have to do it determin which of the 2 tabs is the posotive and which is the negative, although I'm not sure if that is important or not, as I am a beginner at this.

I got mine from desodering old PC bits, but you can get them everywhere.

Aparently they can also be brown blobs...

Err, uf is microfarad, not ultra. The u is used in place of the "mu" symbol because it's easier to type. Wikipedia link

I had a brain fart... I knew it was frad... I just forgot what...

Hmmm, Ultra isn't a metric prefix... lol

Ahhh, the little u looking thing with the tail! If the tail is 1 way it's a mu and if it's the other its a micro. How did I mess that up, I gues I need more sleep...

actually mu (Âµ, sometimes I love QWERTZ keyboards) IS the symbol for micro.

and u is used because some charsets/keyboards don't have a Âµ

Actually, on international layout (which uses QWERTY) there are Âµ, all the currencies, umlauts, the ÃŸ, that downwards-extended c, the inverted question and exclamation marks etc.
