somebody, please help, if anything happens to my computer, my mom with take it to the overpriced PC shop, where they'll charge $200 to "fix" a 5 year old computer. And I'll have to pay, and she wont let me and my friends (friends are geniuses) fix it. It's happened before!!!

For particulary nasty viruses, try HijackThis. I've used it myself to manually rid myself of a trojan in which no antivirus I tried could get rid of.

Make sure you disable System restore or else they'll most likely pop back up whenever you reboot.
An example: I went to Misteroo's website (the guy who made Hero Coyal and Arfenhouse), and as it turns out it was hacked. Long story short I wound up with a trojan dropper: Dropper.Small. AVG eradicated it from the Firefox cache (which I purged anyway), and found it hiding in the System restore executables. Normally you can't access this, not even as the Administrator. I disabled system restore, rebooted, and am now running a full system scan. Paranoid? Maybe. You can't be too safe, you know?
The best thing you can do is get a router if your DSL/Cable modem is plugged right into the computer. (And use common sense.)
EDIT: Wow I need to delete some crap off this machine. 280 gigs of space total and most of it is full.
Great tools:
AVG Free
Ad-Aware 2007
ZoneAlarm Free
CCleaner
Startup Control Panel
(use Google.)
