WTB Custom TI-99/4A Project

Hi, I am hoping to be able to pay someone to try the following project for me:

Making a TI-99/4A modded for S-video output.
I don’t think this has ever been done yet, but I have links to a thread at AtariAge where this issue is discussed, and it certainly looks do-able.

I would be more than happy to send you whatever parts you need, including the TI console, of course.

I would like to get an idea if anyone is willing to try and take this on.
At the moment I am only willing to pay for this at a flat fee rate, one amount if you are successful, and another if you are unable to do it. So this probably only makes sense to someone who is fascinated by this project.

I realize that asking for a flat rate limits who may be willing to try this, so someday if someone does it successfully and has published how, I would then be more likely to accept hourly rates.

Anyway, if this project tickles anyone’s fancy, offer me what you’d want if you are successful and what you would want if you are unable to do it. Depending on how much you want, I will probably want references.

I am sorry, I wasn’t very clear as to exactly what I wanted to do for this mod.

One question, if you are going to pay them to do the mod, then why not do it yourself? If they screw up your probably going to have to pay for it.

Because I don't know how to, nor am particularly interested in learning how.
Unfortunately I am in the position of wanting all of my classic consoles to output the clearest graphics and sound as possible on my HDTV, but am not into doing work on electronics whatsoever.
I see no reason why I shouldn’t get the most out of my old consoles just because I’m not into electronics and stuff.

This is no different than getting a pre-modded S-Video Atari, except that very few people if any have tried this on one of my favorite consoles, the TI-99/4A. I have discussed this on the TI yahoo group and I know there are several other people interested in either buying or doing this procedure.

You are correct that if it gets screwed up, I'd have to pay, which is why for this particular mod, I will only accept agreements of two flat fees, one if they are successful, one if they are not. That limits who might be willing to do it, but really it protects both me and them. I wouldn't even consider a person who doesn't have a very good reputation here or on a similiar site.

Basically the idea is I give someone an idea of a project that they find interesting and might have tried someday with their own money. Instead they get help from me finding and buying parts and stuff so that part takes less of their time and money, and even more importantly they get paid to try out something that they would have done anyway some day.

I feel that once someone trys one of my custom mod offers and it's shown to everyone that both parties are satisfied, reguardless of the outcome, people will eventually feel more comfortable with doing work for me. My goal is to build up a working relationship with mutual trust for projects like this so I don’t even have to put out ads like this.
