Argh- RGB

To connect RGB from an SNES mini to a PSOne/Zenith screen, do I simply need to connect a wire from pins 20, 22, and 24 as shown here to the RGB inputs on the screen, or do I have to build the circuit mentioned? Are there any other wires to connect? I've searched what I can and tried simply connecting the wires, but I seem to be missing something.

I appreciate your help.

No. You do not need that circuit. Pin 20 (RED), Pin 22 (GREEN), Pin 24 (BLUE), and Pin 7 (SYNC) just need to be directly connected to the PSone screen.

also ground, if you start off testing with two seperate power adaptors.

For my zenith/psone screen, +5V to pin 12 also had to be connected for RGB to work.

+5v to pin 12? That helps. I didn't get it working the way Rekarp suggested, so maybe that's what I'm missing still. Unfortunately I'm back at school for the week so next weekend I suppose. Thanks for the help, guys. I'm going to post this info on the wiki in the SNES section if that's alright with everyone. If you think it needs to be written differently please feel free to edit it.

Well I'm using a Zenith screen... Also, just making sure - did you (Kurt_) mean pin 12 of the SNES or of the screen (as in this pic)?

Yes thats the right +5 Volt pin.

Okay, I'm repeating this just to make sure I understand everything and am not a hopeless dunce

:

If connecting directly to a PSOne or Zenith screen, there is no need for the amplifying circuit. Connect Pin 20 (RED), Pin 22 (GREEN), Pin 24 (BLUE), and Pin 7 (SYNC) to the appropriate inputs on the screen. Also connect +5 volts to Pin 12 on the screen and don't forget to connect ground between the SNES and the screen.

Drat! It just goes on and on...

First, I connected everything up for RGB. However, I had a blank black screen and no audio. Then I reconnected composite video to see if my backlight LEDs were not working. They were not turning on for some reason, but I got the audio working. Skip forward a week to this weekend, when I check my leads to see if something was disconnected on the LEDs. Everything looked like it was good to go so I reconnected all of the RGB connections, and the LEDs turned on! Hooray! Except for the fact that I got the white blank screen of "no signal". Giving up, I reconnected composite video to see if I could get anything showing. However, I still got the blank white screen. Also, there is no audio for either composite or RGB.

I decided to stop for the day before I bashed something.
