I think you are all jumping to conclusions. It is likely that it will sell for somewhere around $1500-2000, possibly less. The immense cost with making a plastic one-off prototype would negate any profits the guy would make if this was a fake.

I know of at least one person who is planning on buying this. Until then, it's pointless to argue over something like this.

Good point. I was going to continue the discussion, but it it doesn't really matter. We'll likely find out the complete facts when the price drops to a buyable level and a collector purchases it.

Thought I'd say this. For those of you that are thinking of making something like the Dreamcast Zip add-on. Instead of having the Zip or other drive connect using the VMU/rumble port, just not use moder technology? Build an adapter that will allow the use of a USB drive. You'll have a means of storing game saves, sharing them, and really you can't get anything as rugged as a thumb drive, not to mention the fact that anything below 1GB is dirt cheap now.

Also I'd like to add that the idea that the USB like port on the Zip drive add-on would have to go into either the Maple bus or something similar, and I doubt that there is a bus that run through the expansion port that is capable of doing that.

As for proving if the thing is a fake or real... Well can't really say unless the guy is able to have a video of it working. If it's a prototyple it should have some functionality in some game or web browser. However I doubt that that will happen so unless someone buys it and them announces to the world if it's real or not no one will really be sure.
