LED question.

Would a 3.7v LED work as the main power LED. Mine fell off a long time ago, and I'm finally replacing it with a blue to match my DC

I replaced mine with some random LED I had lying around and I am pretty sure it was 3.7v.

Sadly my Genesis died

I plugged it in to check and no games work. I just get a black screen.

How would an LED kill your genesis? Did you get the polarity wrong?

Mine does that sometimes. Usually the problem is just the cartridge connection. Try cleaning the contacts on the game and system, and if it still doesn't work rip it open and use something like tweezers or a sewing needle to pull the contacts out slightly. (You'll have to over-bend them a little, because most metal has some elasticity when you bend it, and will want to return to its original shape.)

When you turn it on, does the TV pop at all? (It makes that "switching from TV to game on an automatic switch" noise.) Chances are it still works, it just needs some work.

jedi knight: It wasn't the led, I tested it before putting it in.

bic: I'll try that, , but then I'll need to get a new controller. I took the chip, and everything out of it because I was going hook it up to my Dreamcast and emulate the genesis on it since I thought it was probably dead for sure.
