Wii version of Guitar Hero 3 extra features

Post by Jongamer »

Well IGN got to play the Wii version of GH3, the following details are for the guitar for all the consoles.

Strummer clacking and clanking is more muffled now.
Detachable neck for storage
slightly smaller more slick buttons

Wii Guitar details

All the above, plus
Force feedback (Yep Wii version will be the only one with this feature since you plug the Wii controller into the Guitar)
Squelch (When you miss notes in 2 player or co-op, if you miss a note, the sour note squelch will come out of the persons guitar the missed the note, not trying to guess who missed the notes through the tv speakers.)

Not really a feature, but the Wii guitar will use the Wii controller's accelerometer for activating star power.

Wii version will have online play, but they still say its a toss-up whether there will be Downloadable content or not.

EDIT: oops forgot source.

Woo, its got online play.

I'd heard a few days ago there was a possibility the Wii version would lack this.

Seeing as how much I love to play GHII, and have a Wii coming in the mail, there's a chance I'll get this game.

Aren't they still not sure if they are going to include downloadable content or not for the Wii? Knowing me I'll probably just get the 360 version.

Prettier graphics, probably better online play, and achievements for the 360 kinda beat out my thoughts of getting the Wii version.

Most likly they will have downloadable content for the Wii version, but it won't be in the initial release (Downloadable update?)

They said they are working it out with Nintendo at the moment.

I'm sure the PC and Mac versions will have downloadable content... (No I'm not talking about Frets on Fire, Red Octane announced the computer versions of GH3 yesterday.)

PS3, PS2, Wii, 360, PC, Mac... Jeez it's coming out for almost everything still in use! No portable versions (controls would be kind of hard) or Linux version (who cares) to be heard of, though.

Some rumors have been floating around about a Guitar Hero for the DS.

The neck of the guitar supposedly just clicks on, as seen here.

Hey that WOULD be cool. OK, Imagine you have your DS, and maybe the cartridge can have a little plug to actually plug the little neck in, and the actual thing for support will plug into the stylus holder. Make the entire bottom screen a strum area (making the stylus a pick). Bend the DS so the top screen is standing up 90 degrees, and the neck will be out, with the bottom half touching your body vertically and hold the neck and then you can see down into the top screen yet still strum the touch screen with your stylus...hmm. maybe a little paint...nah...what am I saying, that's crazy.

I heard that they confirmed that Guitar Hero III DS (Or is it Guitar Hero DS?) would NOT have touch screen strumming.

I might get the Wii version. Or the DS. Whichever is better. I play my DS way more though... And it would probably cost a lot less.

Does anyone know if the DS version has the same songs as the console versions?

I was just reading a review with the cofounder of Red Octane and came across a couple of nuggets of interest to those looking to buy this game for the Wii.

Apparently it will NOT have online play at launch, but that it may "happen down the road". Sounds like they are working to have downloadable content available at launch, but that isn't certain either although it sounds like that is more likely than online play at this point.

Why does it matter what each system is used for? Do you plan on playing both at once? Sounds like the 360 version is better, so you might as well get the best.
