It's about time they do a story based in the Americas. Im curious to see how their going to base the story around the Crystal Skulls. I am expecting to see many reference to the aztecs in this movie because of the movies name.

Who knows if the Namco Portable will ever become a reality? :P

There already something in the Americas. The intro to Raiders of the Lost Ark was in South America.

LAME! The Crystal Skull thing has been a confirmed storyline for a while now, but the working titles were a lot better than this, ie, "City of the Gods" and such.

The crystal skulls are real and kind of interesting, look them up.

Considering Area 51 is involved as well, it sounds like they're definitely going for a "Chariots of the Gods" vibe. That is, the theory that a lot of the stuff from ancient history / Bible / Aztecs were created/inspired by alien intelligence.

Nikola Tesla himself theorized that the Ark of the Covenant was actually a capacitor which could discharge itself to kill people.

I quite enjoy these theories, and it might add to the mystery of the Indy trilogy. Then again, it undermines the themes of faith put forth in 1 and 2, and involving Area 51 is cheesy.

Looking back, "The Phantom Menace" was actually a perfect pulpy title, even if we all hated it in the day. "Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls" is Flash Gordon cheesy-lame and probably won't improve upon furture reflection.

Hmm. I don't recall The Phantom Menace getting a cold reception as far as titles are concerned, nor do I understand the issue people would have with it: it was succinct, to the point, and actually had a meaning in regards to the film.

As far as Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls goes, I'm really not sure what the big deal with this title is; it seems perfectly fine to me.
