XB360 3 lights of death?

Post by Lorelis-san »

I got a free 3 lights of death XB60 motherboard plus fans, diskdrive and the 2 wires which connect the diskdrive and motherboard, and the ROL assembly... What should I do with it? And how could I fix it, if possible?

And I need to desolder the ROL assembly to get the metal shielding off, right?

Did you mod it? It sounds like someone opend it even if it wasn't modded. No offense but that'd be stupid. Microsoft has initiated a 3 year warrenty for 3 red lights. You could try the x-clamp mod. Search google.

It wasn't modded or opened before the 3ROD, but by the time I found out about the 360, it had already been attempted to have been opened by its owner, breaking the warranty, so me and the owner of the 360 decided to take it apart. He got the casing, and I got the motherboard and all the components...

I'll try and get the neccesary components for the x-clamp mod.

Oh ok. Too bad you didn't know about it. Also if for some reason you decide not to x-clamp i'll take it from you with a happy face!

I did know about the 3 year warranty. It's just, that well, the xbox was someone else's. And by the time that I found out that their xbox was 3LODing, they had already attempted to take it apart, voiding warranty in the process.

And I kinda have a problem on my hands - I need the casing to X-clamp, and some broke. Sooooo, I'll have to get myself some casing somehow. Suppose I'll go make a topic in the Trading Post for it

I've got the metal RF shielding, but it's bent out of shape, which is why I need a new one.

And I googled for the mod info, and found that exact site yesterday - there's a link to it on my desktop right now, in fact. Thanks for helping anyway!
