Hokay, so here's the deal:
I soldered some bigger speakers to my screen, but when I turned them up entirely with having the backlight LEDs on, the game just restarted every five seconds. Obviously I thought the speakers were energy eating mosters, so I soldered the old ones back on. Same problem, if the backlight is at a level at which you can actually see anything, and the screen on full volume, it crashes every 5 seconds (no, literally. always at the EXACT same position)
Now, since this isn't an ampere issue (as the same set-up was working fine before...), what could possibly cause this? a little help here?!
by the way, I'm running this thing from the wall, 7.5 volts, 2 Ampere. That's right, two ampere. Snes + screen + 4 20mA LEDs + speakers don't drain that much.
brightness/volume too high = crash

If the wall supply is a standard transformer instead of a regulated power supply, you're actually putting MUCH more than 7.5V into your screen.
My first thought was too little amps, but that's clearly not the case. What's your ENTIRE setup, including any little daughter boards and mods you've done?

-4 12000 mcd 20mA LEDs
-8 39 Ohm resistors for the above
-3 47Ohm resistors for the RGB lines
-unused battery holders (for batteries, obviously!)
Other than that, I just removed stuff.
I remain cluesless.

Won't be the speakers. My current project runs off the official Psone power supply and c. 55mm diameter speakers (8 ohm). No issues. My last project ran the same and used batteries. No issues. (unmodded screen).
Issue is not with speakers, must the elsewhere (resistors?).
Wasn't it posted before to use 220 ohm resistors for the RGB lines??

Alright then, I'll take off the resistors, and see what happens.

before I took out the resistors I decided to reverse everything I did before it stopped working
this included removing a wire from the 7805 ground to the screen ground (because they only have ONE ground now), so I resoldered a wire between those, and it worked. What the HECK?!
Okay, the only reasonable explanation I got is that the wire was too thin, and had too much resistance... or something.
