Something like that but replace the ham with an equal amount of maple syrup. This person decided to go skimpy on it. Must be an American!

Syrup on bacon???!!? How dare you defile that most superior meat with tree sap!!! Bacon must be eaten plain to best enjoy its delicious greasiness. Though I do like drowning my pancakes, waffles, and french toast in syrup. Those pancakes in the picture look pretty lame, we call those roll up pancakes (I've also heard them called insert-almost-any-European-country pancakes). We put powdered sugar or jam on them on them, roll them up, and eat them like a taco. In fact, thats what we're having for dinner tonight!

@ Benol: Not every day. WouldIfICouldButICan'tSoIWon't applies to this. There's not enough time in the morning to fry up bacon and make pancakes. It is my favourite breakfast, and a Canadian classic that Canadian lumberjacks (the ones with the big curly beards and rolled up flannel shirts) ate (Or so the movies with lumberjacks in them has told me). Sorry for the awkward sentence.

@Vskid. You die now. Just TRY Maple Syrup on Bacon just once. It is amazingly good. Sugar + Fat = yummy! Kind of reminds me of American fast food.

I love making my own pizzas, with my own base, and sauce.

Try it someday, its like, woah.

Sauce
Fry a large onion (in oil), until it turns clearish looking, then add tomato paste (or tinned tomatoes), some herbs (basil for one). Let this simmer for a while, add viniger and stock cube powder (or salt, whatever) and let this sit for 10 min on a very low heat.

The base
Some warm water in a shallow bowl. To this add yeast, and salt, and some olive oil (1 tablespoon) Stir. Add 1 cup flour and mix until smooth. Stir in more (another cup). Let it rest for a bit (like 30min) then kneed it for a little untill it is smooth.

Now put it together with your favorite toppings!

@ Benol: I don't eat fast food, I wouldn't know. We have Wendy's, McDonald's, Tim Horton's (lots of them!), Dunkin' Donuts, Burger Kings, Pizza Pizza, Pizza Hut (not many), Subway (It's fast! It counts!), Mr. Sub, Gino's Pizza, some chinese joints, Boston Pizzas, and maybe a few more that escape me. Not many though. There's maybe 2-10 of each in Ancaster (small city) and Hamilton (big city, but not quite Toronto big). Except Tim Horton's. They're everywhere.

I'm sure it's less abundant than America, because Canadians are generally less...'heavy'.

And yes. Gravy + Fries = yummy. New York Fries' poutines are to die for.

Generally, I think they're healthier, less fatty fast foods too. From what I've listed, only Pizza Hut, Burger King, McDonald's, Wendy's, and some Chinese places are really greasy. Too much fried food / grease makes me sick. Too much would be a big container of greasy Wendy's/McDonalds fries. Everything else on the list counts as "doesn't make me sick" food.

Pretty much all of the fast food that you listed, with considerably larger portions.

And we are used to that much grease so it doesn't make us sick. I've never heard of Pizza Pizza, Mr. Sub or Tim Horton's. Also, we have Taco Bell, Capitan D's, KFC, Long John Silver's, and Zaxby's.

What's poutine? We don't have that here.

Mix it with a little what? Also, what company makes cheese doodles? I've never seen them.

Cheese Doodles is a generic brand available in Southern Michigan grocery stores.

Vinegar + fries =

First, fry up some ground beef (lean is better) and drain the fat. Add Manwich sauce, a pinch of sugar, and some curry or chili powder. (The mix should be really thick.) Fry up a hot dog, put it in a bun, add ketchup, mustard, relish, onions, and the meat sauce. Mmmm...

White clam chowder is the real chowder. That red stuff is just water.

Poutine is amazing. It's fries with gravy on it, but in the gravy is melted cheese curds. It's french.

About the larger portions thing.

Our packs of gobstoppers look like this:

50.1 grams. It's more than enough to satisfy candy urges more than once. One for 50 cents at the dollar store, or $1.00ish out of those overpriced vending machines in our school.

These are yours:

218.2 grams. Slightly bigger. How much do these cost?

I have a feeling this contributes to the obesity in America. Bigger portions = more to eat at one time. It probably also contributes to more cavities!

(By the way, I'm not bashing Americans. I'm just bashing their social trends, and society feeding them too much of what is not healthy. Pick up an apple instead. Apples are very yummy. And sweet, and juicy, and crunchy. Good with cheese, caramel (just a little), and lots of other things!)

Those usually cost a dollar. But that is a movie theater sized box. (You can also buy them at dollar stores sometimes.) The whole idea of selling Gobstoppers at a movie theater is insane. You can't eat almost 30 Gobstoppers in an hour or two!

Btw, You don't have REAL Mountain Dew in Canada. You have some caffeine free crap.
