Ipod Nano V2 wont turn on. Majorly pissed.

Do you have a technical question that doesn't really fit a specific console? Want some general info on electronics, hacking, making cookies, etc? Here's the place to ask! Go nuts.

Ipod Nano V2 wont turn on. Majorly pissed.

Post by HotDog-Cart »

Hey. I just bought a mp3 speaker by a company called: purTEK

The speakers work amazingly. Theyre loud and nice quality, but now Im copulate pissed.

I used them in my ipod nano. They worked good. So I took them out and turned my ipod off. Now I wanna turn it on again, but it wont even turn on.

So, I thought, Okay maybe the battery is dead.

So I plugged it into 2 different computers and tried charging it. No prevail.

It wont charge. The computers dont even recognize it. Both computers have working USB ports, and the USB cord works as my brother was just using it with his ipod nano.

Im pissed. It sounds like these speakers fried my nano.

Any way to get the ipod back working? If not, could I somehow come into contact with the company who made the speakers?

Thanks.

Have you tried a hard reset? (Switch Hold on and off, then hold Menu and the center button for a few seconds.) You could also try leaving it plugged into your computer for a while, it's possible the battery's completely dead. (Which may happen if the iPod is pumping as much power as possible through the headphone jack, or if there's something leeching power off the dock connector.) You could try leaving it plugged in for a half hour or so.

Did they plug in through the dock connector, or just the headphone jack?

That's what you get for buying no-name crap. I can't find any reliable website with information about them. (Searching for "purTEK" brought me to a Canadian water treatment company.)

I love you bic. I tried it before, but I forgot to do the hold button trick.
