What is the type of switch called where it toggles in multiple directions (4 in this case) while also acting as a switch in the neutral position?
I don't mean a switch like the 49-position joystick or something that measures how far and what what direction, simply up, down, left, right, and neutral.
My multimedia player joystick broke and I need a new one :/
Switch?

That mechanism is called a mini-joystick, and is a set of four switched in a really small box (unless you had analog, in which case it's two potentiometers). Sparkfun.com has a couple different types.
Edit: Err, I thought Sparkfun had them, but they've either sold out of them or I'm thinking of a different site.

Thanks that's actually almost exactly what I need, just that one's a bit too big. I'm looking for one about .25", maybe .26" across, but I think I should be able to find something. Thanks for the help.Electric Rain wrote:Digikey is your friend.
