PSone PAL to NTSC

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

PSone PAL to NTSC

Post by Kartoshka548 »

My first post in this forum! :-)

I'm trying to get normal picture on new psone LCD i got from ebay UK.

both of my zone and UK zone is pal, so this is not a problem. it works when i connect composite_in from tv_out.

But when i try to connect some machines i have which come from US, the screen starts flickering and i can't do nothing with it.

My question is HOW can i change LCD PALness to LCD NTSCness forever, as this screen from the beginning was bought for use with NTSC machine only (commodore64)?

Btw, in black in looks much more attractive. .. still have to paint buttons and speaker grills in orange..... or better green-yellow mix.

Shouldn't there be some way to just make the devices work with the screen instead of vice versa?

I know that some 3rdparty screens (the logic3 e.g.) support both NTSC, and PAL

Only option is to buy a PSone screen from the USA, so you get NTSC. If you buy a PSone screen in the UK, it will be PAL.

Yes, some of the third party ones can do both, but a PSone is one or the other.

I realize that, bacteria. However, it would be less effort (and cheaper) to just buy one of the ones they can. Some of these aren't too bad quality-wise either.

Given the prices the PSone screens (PAL) sell for on e-bay you might even make a profit!

its not that easy... living in a middle east means high shipping costs.
Well, 50 bucks is not a big deal after all. . .

Here i cut prices on national smoking habits, folks :-) Much more cheaper than everywhere else in europe or americas.

I suggest selling it HERE. On these boards, almost every european needs one of those, and you will definitely get a good deal, perhaps you can even directly trade it for an NTSC one (which would be a better deal for the other trader, but as long as we're all happy it works, right?)
